Cenote Buho in Riviera Maya Wedding Photography

Lynn + Demetrius

THE WEDDING DAY

Elopements in Mexico are always a delight for Riviera Maya wedding photographer. But when the couple chooses a location like a sacred cenote, we get extra excited. Lynn and Demetrius chose Cenote El Buho, situated in the jungle off the highway between Cancun and Tulum. The cenote destination weddings are typically held in the morning before the Caribbean heat gets too hot to bare. The elopement wedding photographers were the first to arrive on site. Next, the shaman arrived to prepare the sacred altar near the fresh water, with a lot of petals, seeds, copal, and other important elements. As soon as the shaman began to burn the copal, we could feel the magical energy in the air.

The guests arrived next with anticipation and fascination in their eyes. The elopement photographers recognized Demetrius right away, as he was dressed handsomely in white and had a beautiful flower on his hat that gave him a touch of extra style. The birds were making their sweet sounds in between the jungle leaves.

But when Lynn arrived, it was as if the jungle fell silent to watch the queen enter. She was gorgeous. The way that Demetrius looked at her told us everything. This was a partnership not only of love, but of adoration, compassion, kindness and respect.

Demetrius had his eye on his queen for some time before they started anything special. From the time they met in April 2017, Lynn never understood why he would give her one of his business cards after every meeting they were in together. One morning at a meeting, she offered him a donut and he took advantage of the opportunity to have a conversation with her. At the end of their conversation, this time it was Lynn who requested one of Demetrius’ business cards, and on the back, she wrote her phone number. From that day on, he talked to her, and went to her office just about every day.

Once they were engaged, Demetrius chose the wedding date, and little did Lynn know, it was the same date that she gave him her phone number.

Lynn shared something special with the wedding photographers: When Lynn was thinking about what she wanted to say to Demetrius, the number 7 kept popping up. She wanted to know what it could mean, so she did some research.

Biblically, the number 7 is the foundation of the word of GOD. This number has been used seven hundred and thirty-five times in the bible. Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). It derives much of its meaning from being tied directly to God’s creation of all things. The number 7 is a spiritual prime, which makes it a constituent building block. But it is also an “insulator” because it cannot be divided with, or by, negative influences. For this reason, the power of this number can be used to build strong, positive, spiritual vectors in our lives.

Lynn took this as a sign that she was with the most perfect person for her, and gave her entire heart to him in the most sacred places on Earth. Eloping in Mexico was a beautiful and exciting experience for them, and they consider themselves blessed in life and love.
