Valentin Imperial in Riviera Maya, Mexico

Alexandra + Zackary

This love story began 8 years ago when Alex ran into Zack and his friend John (who is now his best man) one day during their graduation week. He had just celebrated with his swim team and was on to more festivities with other seniors when they ran into each other on 8th Avenue on the Augustana College campus. They had a lot of fun that week and began to date. After spending more time with one another, they realized that there was more to their relationship than just partying.

Zack asked Alex to marry him on the beach at his open-air club. She was taking a water ski run and she turned the corner and saw him on the shore waiting on her knee with a big sign that said "Will you marry me?" Of course, the answer was YES!

Zack works as a human resources analyst for AON in Chicago, and Alex is an optometrist in a medical office. They enjoy water skiing and sports like fishing, swimming, pool, and spending time at the beach. That’s why the best place for them to get married is by the sea! So they decided to have their destination wedding in Cancun.

They choose the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya Hotel in Playa del Carmen to celebrate the wedding ceremony. They selected the beautiful gazebo in the middle of the hotel's garden for their ceremony. It was important to them that their friends and family have a vacation alongside their wedding celebration. Since they love to travel, and wanted to give their family and friends the chance to see more of the Riviera Maya in Mexico. They took them all on a trip to visit Cenote Cristalino. Their guests were so impressed with the transparent waters in the jungle setting, and many of them said it was one of the best parts of their experience.

It was a wonderful weekend and the destination wedding photographers were so happy to be a part of their journey. They even invited the photographers to the cenote to capture even more memories that will be held close to their hearts.
